What is the Cédula de Ciudadanía?

The Cédula de Ciudadanía is Colombia's main identification document, issued by the Registraduría Nacional del Estado Civil. It is mandatory for all Colombian citizens over 18 and used for voting, opening bank accounts, signing contracts, and legal procedures.

Number structure

The Colombian cédula number has 6 to 10 numeric digits, without a publicly standardized check digit algorithm. The generator creates numbers within the valid range, following the length patterns used by the Colombian system.
